Food rich in antioxidants helps to prevent wrinkles. They are present in several common vitamins; their regular intake reduces the damage caused by the free radicals. Certain fruits, nuts, grains, meat, fish and poultry are rich in antioxidants
To start with, the vitamin A rich food is good for skin and includes sweet potatoes, milk, egg yolks, mozzarella cheese, liver and carrot. The food rich in Lycopene are the excellent source of wrinkle prevention and also minimize the risk of cancer. We can benefit from Lycopene by consuming more of tomatoes, guava, papaya, water melon and blood oranges.
Make use of Red peppers every day as it has high content of vitamins A, E and bioflavonoids that hydrates and heals the skin. Include red and dark orange vegetables like sweet potatoes, squash, pumpkin, cantaloupe, beets and carrots in your diet as the beta-carotene (anti-oxidants) naturally helps in keeping wrinkles at bay.
Nuts, broccoli, mangoes, Almonds and certain oils like safflower, corn, soybean and wheat germ contribute greatly as vitamin E. Eat salmon and get that lubrication on your skin with the essential oils in it. Also eat rice, wheat and Brazil nut having selenium in it and cereals, beef, fish and poultry to get ascorbic acid.
Healthy diet rich in antioxidants alone won’t help; one has to have healthy lifestyle and daily exercise to have a healthy wrinkle free skin.
